The Attain app is a sensor-based health, activity & rewards experience delivered via native mobile apps. Attain combines user health history with wearable data to offer personalized goals, achievable actions and rewards with the goal of driving behavior change to improve user health.
During my time as the lead of Attain design, with close collaboration of product, engineering, data and clinical partners, the team implemented several new features based on key user needs and research insights including "Challenges".
Attain App Challenges Feature Design
Guided activity challenges Attain users can choose to participate in. The goal of challenges is to make it easier for users to attain their activity goals, by providing additional, and increasingly personalized, opportunities in-app to engage in healthy behaviors.
Final designs verified with user testing, allow a users to join a challenge and see progress throughout. Users track their progress toward the next set of points and see how they are doing compared to others while daily coaching tips encourage completion of goals. Users complete challenges and receive points that can be used toward gift cards.
Challenges custom created for Attain users, are available in 5 categories (steps, workouts, exercise, distance, stand) and 3 durations (1-week, 2-week, 1-month) which means they always have a variety of options. Push notifications remind users to join in on the fun. Moments of transition and animation add surprise and delight to the experience. Feature launched in app for both iOS and Android users.
